THE BOAT HOUSE is a cunning tale set around the Lake District, telling the story of a mysterious stranger who arrives and quietly causes the inhabitants of Three Oaks Bay (the setting of the story) to start losing members of their family in the lake. Brilliantly written, with Gallagher`s uncanny knack for showing us abnormal psychology again in evidence, this is a story that lingers long after the pages are closed. You`ll want to return to this one time and time again ...

In 1984 I travelled to Leningrad, got hepatitis, and reimagined The Little Mermaid as an English landscape horror story. This was the result.
If you reckon it's not the work of a well person, I can only agree.

Highly creative tale

All seems relatively normal in this thriller by Gallagher but takes a wild frightening twist with the lead female.
Great fun and well written, keeps you on the edge the whole way.
