You will fail if you rely on this book.

I am writing this review after reading this book cover to cover.
I have scored 99 percentile in all my absites during my residency for that reason I believe I can make some comments about this book to warn people.
This book is extremely incomplete, esophageal cancer, head and neck tumors, breast, trauma, melanoma, anorectal disease is totally unacceptable, no or inadequate staging information. No therapy options based on stage. Most disease processes which are heavily tested are basically glorified definitions. No guidelines reviewed. Lacking most of the details tested on the absite, I am not even mentioning that it is a joke for the score questions.
Even the black fiser book has way more detail and relevant information.
I am also attaching a picture on lip cancers from the book. This is all that's been written, trust me it is no different for larynx or other cancers including stomach, small bowel, gerd, lymphomas, the list goes on and on. Liver pancreas; only section in the book nearly adequate.
Why did I buy this book ? I summarized Cameron's on my black fiser during residency with post-its and unfortunately lost it during my move to a fellowship. I saw the Hopkins name and 600 plus pages and thought this would be a nice way to supplement my other review sources.
This book is awful, it is not even funny to see that it is full of just glorified definitions and word salad instead of clinical data.
Badly executed.
Do not buy or rely on this book either as a supplement for abs or the absites. You will fail. This book is not even suited for 3rd year students.

Excellent, concise

It was a relatively quick read and reasonably thorough. I passed and didn't do any more than this and the latest SESAP. No review course needed otherwise.

I don't have a better alternative to offer for a "review" book for you

The book is incomplete. The critical details are missing you WILL be tested on. I don't have a better alternative to offer for a "review" book for you.... Osler review course was good for QE and CE, alternatively stick to SCORE curriculum and look up your questions in Cameron's, but Don't put your eggs in this basket, ie this book.
